Double stone with June Slocum Sutherland
NEWPORT William Harold Sutherland, 75, of Newport died Friday, April 25. He was a member of Cherokee Church of Christ. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for more than 30 years and loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Craig Sutherland and Tinnie Evins Sutherland Clark; and stepfather, Marshall Clark. He is survived by his wife, June Slocum Sutherland of Newport; one son, David Craig Sutherland and wife Pebble of Conway; one daughter, Tracey Diane Sutherland of Newport; seven sisters, Roberta Pulliam of Decatur, Ill.; Lola Baker of Newport, Jean Goodman of Tuckerman, Dorothy Burgess of Newport, Shirley Heatherly of Newport, Marquilla Lewis of Newport and Cherry Hunter of Newport; and three grandchildren, Susanna, Clay and Reid Sutherland of Conway. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Cherokee Church of Christ with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Jonesboro Sun
