Robert 'Clay' Sloan, 74, of Norfork died Tuesday (Feb 24) at the Mt. Home Nursing Center. Formerly of Wichita, KS, he has be a Norfork resident since January 1936.
He was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Plumber & Steamfitters Union Local 454, Hot Springs. He also belonged to the Adams Masonic Lodge F&AM at Norfork, Royal Arch Masons at Mt. Home, R&SM at Batesville, Knights Templer at Batesville, and Order of the
Eastern Star at Calico Rock. He was a member of the Norfork United Methodist Church.
Born March 27,, 1912, at Mitchel County, KS, he was the son of the late Olva Smith Sloan and Henry Clayborn Sloan.
He and the former Ruth Reusser were married in 1933 at Moundridge, KS. She resides at Norfork.
Visitation for Mr. Sloan will be from 9AM to 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 6-7PM. Graveside services at the Norfork Cemetery will be at 2PM Friday with the Rev. Steyen Johnson officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be offered by the Adams Masonic Lodge. Lodge members will serve as pallbearers.
