(A death date of June 28, 1931, is inscribed on the gravestone. A death story in the July 10, 1931, issue of The Baxter Bulletin indicates a death date of July 6, 1931, and the Arkansas Death Record Index lists F. E. Killian as having died 7/5/1931 in Izard County.)

July 10, 1931
Frank Killian, age 34, hanged himself Monday night about 8 o'clock. He lived in the Spring Creek settlement, two miles east of Calico Rock. He as been in poor health in the past year and despondency over his condition is thought to be the cause of his act. He was found by his wife hanging to a low rafter in the barn, dead.
