Eldridge Tim Sherrell of Oxford, son of the late Jim and Nancy Blankenship Sherrell was born December 9, 1913 in Bandmill. He died February 13, 2000, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He was 86.

Mr. Sherrell was united in marriage to Faye Ballard December 30, 1933 at Oxford. To this union, five children were born. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Oxford Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Faye of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Pat Sherrell of Joplin, Missouri; four daughters and sons-in-law, Billie and Wayne Prewett of West Plains, Missouri; Lena and Billy Dockins of Oxford; Joyce and Gerald Bryant of Oxford and Pam and Joe Johnson of Mammoth Spring; one sister, Agnes Jones of Wenatchee, Washington; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by seven brothers, Chester, Robert, Troy, Aaron, Earl, Arvin and Ozzie Sherrell; three sisters, Edna Stroud, Lizzie Owens, and Olma Cooper and his father and mother.

Funeral services were held February 16, 2000 at the Oxford Baptist Church with Reverend Author Barber officiating. Interment was in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Estes-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
