*Obituary
Charles B. Kocornik "Coke" passed away June 13, 2012 from complications following a two-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born at St Mary’s Hospital, Orange, N.J. to his parents, Charles F. Kocornik and Ruth Holterman Kocornik, on September 20, 1929. Coke graduated from West Orange High School and the University of Michigan. After his army service during the Korean Conflict, his career with western Electric and AT&T spanned 30 years. Coke is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet Hitchcock Kocornik; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard W. and Mary Ann Kocornik of Caldwell, N.J; his daughters Jennifer Long, Diana Kocornik, and Pamela Kiser; his son, Charles W. Kocornik; eleven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mildred Mitzi MacLehose. Coke and Janet made the most of their 26 year retirement, traveling the USA in a fifth wheel, taking world-wide tours, and finally settling in Texas and more recently Little Rock. Fifteen of those years they worked as disaster volunteers for the American Red Cross. Coke was always looking for another golf course, book to read, or computer game. He was well loved and will be sorely missed. A private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
