SILOAM SPRINGS — James Wilburn Short, ape 92, of Siloam Springs died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Siloam Springs. He was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Strawn, Texas, the son of T.A. and Myrtle Nall Short.

He was a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ and a retired dispatcher for Skelton Brothers Trucking Company. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling, sitting around the campfire and his grandchildren.

He was preceded to death by his wife, Helen Short, in 2007.

He is survived by one son, Rick Short and Gail of Romance, Ark.; ore daughter, Carole Shaver and Darrel of Anderson, Mo.; one brother, Billy Joe Short and Love of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, one of which was Raelei Farmer, whom he resided with until his death; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel, with burial at Bluff Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Rogers VFW Post 3331.

Visitation will be today, April 5, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
