He is survived by his wife, Jewell; 3 daughters, Sandra Edwards of Cedar Hill, Tina Wilbur of Olympia, Wash., and Linda Bernard of Phoenix; a son, Robin Bernard of Merced, CA; a stepson, Jimmy Brown of Poteau, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ray O. Bernard, 87, of Pocola was born January 13, 1919, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Ray O. and Bertha (Polenz) Bernard, Sr. and died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He is survived by; his wife, Jewell of the home; three daughters, Sandra Edwards and husband, Walter of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Tina Wilbur and husband, Bob of Olympia, Washington, Linda Bernard of Phoenix, Arizona; one step daughter, Judy Slack and husband, Gene of Pocola, Oklahoma; one son, Robin Bernard and wife, Suzi of Merced, California; one step son, Jimmy Brown and wife, Sheila of Poteau, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Brown of Poteau, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ted Bernard and Jonathan Brown; four brothers and two sisters. He was a General Contractor, President of J & R Construction Company, a member of Oak Lodge Church and a Sergeant of the Army-Air Corps in the 80th Fighter Squadron during WWII.
