September 24, 1908 - September 28, 1991
Rev. Jefferson Robert walker was born September 24, 1908 in McCaskill, Arkansas to the late Augustus and Bell Draper walker. He was educated in the public school system of McCaskill, Arkansas. He met and married Georgia Ann Manager, in November 23, 1955. He united with the Mount Zion C.M.E. Church. In later years, he joined the First Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. H. H. Raybon. As his knowledge of Christ grew, he accepted his call to the ministry and was licensed as a minister of the gospel June 10, 1963. Rev Walker was ordained on February 23, 1975. As he began to grow in the ministry, he was called to pastor St. Matthew Baptist Church of Newton, Ark. Later Rev. Walker was called to New Morning Star Baptist Church of Huntington, Ark. For a short while he pastored Bethlehem Baptist Church of Hartshorne, Oklahoma. Rev. Walker was maintenance engineer at Westark Community College for 33 years. While employed at Westark, he was awarded two Outstanding Achievement Awards. He passed away on Saturday, September 28, 1991 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
