Waymon Rochell HANNAH

Washington (African American) Cemetery
Sebastian County,
Arkansas

August 7, 1963 - April 23, 2020

Waymon Rochell Hannah, 56, of Fort Smith, Arkansas died Thursday, April 23, 2020.
He was born August 7, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Johnnie Hannah Johnson and the late D'Earl Haynes.

Waymon accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age and joined the Temple of Healing Church of God in Christ in Oklahoma City. He loved and was very active, as a child, in the Children's Church; he was the church treasurer. He travelled as a youth to the National Convention.

Waymon attended school in the Oklahoma City Public School System for some years and he also attended a private school for several years in Oklahoma City. At a young age, he was a lover of sports; basketball, baseball were the two that he would participate in, along with his friends. As a young man in high school, he worked part-time at the Quail Creek Country Grill. After Waymon moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas, he was employed for a few years with the Van Buren Pipe Company. He was also know for doing side jobs such as painting and landscaping.

Waymon was a loyal and loving spouse, an extraordinary father and an outstanding grandfather. He would wake up early in the morning, turn on old school music to get the day started for everyone. He was a friendly and likable kind of a guy. He impacted many lives with just his presence. He loved hanging out with his family and friends. He was also a giving man, even if it was his last. He knew the true meaning of paying it forward. All you had to do was spend the day with him and you would learn how great of a man he was. He also knew how to make you laugh, smile and have a good time.

Waymon's mother spoke of how they would enjoy travelling to Fort Smith and having church as a family. They would attend services at New Life Church of God in Christ and, afterwards, they would have church at home and invite friends over to the house. Waymon will truly be missed by all who knew him.
