John Carl Jenkins, 84 of Walnut Ridge, died January 19, 2024, at his residence.

Born February 27, 1939, in Lake Crystal, MN; son of the late, Jay Cee Jenkins and Blanche Elizabeth Torgerson. John married Barbara Sue Smith on October 25, 1958. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. John was of the Methodist faith and a row crop and cattle farmer. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and reading Westerns.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; and a son-n-law, Tim Ryan.

Survivors include his daughter Teresa Ryan of Walnut Ridge; his son, John Carl Jenkins II (Debbie) of Pocahontas; three grandchildren, John Carl Jenkins III (Larianne), Nikolos Ryan, and Mikayla Ward (Terrence); two great grandchildren, Carlee Jean and William Joseph; a brother, Merele Jenkins (Shirlene) of Edinburg, TX; and two sisters, Jewel Ashmore (Gene) of Carlisle, AR, and Bonnie Evans of Romance, AR; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro John Stoll officiating. Interment of his cremains will follow at a later date in the Strangers Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. till 12 P.M.
