SPRINGDALE — Elmer Henry Brawner, 86, of Springdale died March 30, 2007 , in Springdale.
He was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Pollard to John Henry and Florence Crocker Brawner.
He was retired from General Motors where he was production worker for more than 30 years and also drove a school bus for the Springdale School System for 14 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, served in the Navy and enjoyed all sports and walking. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Lee Brawner of the home; son James Brawner and his wife, Janet, of Mustang, Okla.; two daughters, Sonya Simpson and her husband, Don, of Springdale and Sherry Johnson and her husband, Robert, of Commerce, Texas, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral. Chapel with the Rev. James Criswell and the Rev. Guy Durkees officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home, www.memfuneral.com.
