Richard (Webb) Lewis, 80, a former resident of Smackover, died in Ouachita Hospital in Camden Wednesday. Born August 22, 1893, he was the son of Elder S. L. and Ellen Lewis. He served in WWI, was a member of Leon Egbert American Legion Post No. 446 and was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Jomes, Louann, Mrs. Minnie Smith, Smackover; a brother, William Lewis, Smackover; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the New Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. W. J. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Primm Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times - November 10, 1973)
