November 18, 1936 - September 1, 2020
Gene “Poppy” Youngblood, 83, of Hot Springs, went home to the Lord on September 1, 2020. He was born November 18, 1936 in Marion County, Georgia to Eddie and Nell Youngblood.
Poppy was obsessed in keeping his lawn manicured and had a strong desire for his neighbors to do the same. If not he was quick to mow for them or enlighten them it was high-time to mow. A manicured lawn was second only to his love of sitting by his pool especially when visiting/playing with the grand/great-grand kids.
He is predeceased by his parents and loving wife of almost 50 years, Nina Youngblood.
Survivors include son, Gregg Youngblood; daughter, Kerry (Greg) Bratton; sisters, Sandra Bowen, Brenda (Bobby) Underwood; grandchildren, Calie (Thomas) Plummer, Colton Youngblood, Morgan and Dalton Bratton, Isaac Miller; great-grandchildren, Owen and Elliott Plummer, Hazel Bratton; and extended loving family, Donna (William) Miller and his special lady friend, Betty Burton.
A Celebration of Gene’s life will be 10am Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Chaplain Christopher Rodgers officiating.
