GASSOWAY, Fred K. - The body of Fred K. Gassoway, 37, who died in the United States bureau hospital at Hines, Ill. Saturday night at 7:30. arrived in Rogers Tuesday night and funeral services were held Wednesday. Mr. Gassoway moved to Rogers about two years ago from Stilwell, Okla. and his family is living at 1110 South Third street. Mr. Gassoway had been in ill health for the last four years and had spent the greater portion of the last year at the institution in Illinois. He returned to the hospital about three months ago. He was a veteran of the World war and a member of the Rogers post of the American Legion. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Anna Gassoway, one daughter, Mildred Mae, five years old, and one son, Kinton Karl, three years old; his mother, Mrs. Mae Gassoway, and two brothers, Floyd and Frank, of Stilwell. A short funeral service was conducted at Callison's undertaking parlors at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by the American Legion. The body was taken immediately afterward to Fayetteville for burial in the national cemetery. The burial service was conducted by the American legion. A.D. Callison was in charge of funeral arrangements.
