Chester Paul Jones, 86 of Magnolia, Arkansas left his loving wife, family and many friends on Sunday, October 24, 2010 to be with his Lord.
Chester was born on March 6, 1924 to the late Paul and Cora Faye Jones in Clearwater, Florida. He married Dorothy Williamson on June 14, 1945 and they were happily married for 65 years. He was a graduate of Magnolia High School and Southern State College; he later attended Columbia Bible School preparing him for the ministry. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was a welder by trade. As a Baptist minister, he led several churches, the last being Pilgrims Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his; son, Jeffery Allen Jones; parents, Paul and Cora Faye Jones; sisters, Mary Anne Jones and Jackie Goree; and brother, Joel L. Jones.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Jones of Magnolia, Arkansas; sons, Robert P. Jones and wife Vicki of Houston, Texas, Bill C. Jones and wife Dora of El Dorado, Arkansas, Larry W. Jones and wife Nita of Conway, Arkansas, Greg D. Jones and wife Tami of Magnolia, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jones of Searcy, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Chester is also survived by his sisters, Cora Sue Triplet, Alma Faye Hudman, Louise Wyrick, and Charlotte Perkins.
Visitation will be at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at College View Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Antioch East Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Blake Jones, Tony Jones, Chris Rowe, Colton Morrison, and David Richards.
