March 17, 1936 - July 30, 2015
Robert "Bud" Allen Elkins passed away July 30, 2015. He was a resident of Las Vegas, NV and Parker, CO. He was born March 17, 1936 in Tulsa, OK to Mamie Kathryn Sividon and Robert Harold Elkins and graduated from El Dorado High School in El Dorado, AR and Centinary College in Shreveport, LA. He also attended Henderson State University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. His career began in the Army, after which he became a cattle buyer, served in the FBI, and later the insurance industry retiring as a State Farm agent in 1999. He was a charter member of both Parker Rotary Club and Trinity Lutheran Church, Franktown, and member of Parker Chamber of Commerce, Parker Model A Club, Daylite Lodge #44, F&AM Scottish Rite, Valley of Las Vegas, Zelzah Shriners, Royal Order of Jesters Court #181, and Lutheran Valley Ranch, Florissant, CO. He also served as a volunteer driver to transport children from Las Vegas to Shriners Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. He is predeceased by his parents, infant son R. Paul, brother James, and half-brother Steven. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Judy A. (Nelson) Elkins, brother Philip Elkins, sister Jeannie Smith, half-sisters Marsha Huff and Sandra Elkins, children Kellie D. Vogt of KY, Valerie Brooke Pineo of VA, Holly D. Olsen of TX, Tiffany Ann Johns of CO, and Aaron J. Elkins of CO, and ten grandchildren. Memorial considerations may be made to the Zelzah Shrine Transportation Fund (2313 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89104) or to a charity of choice. Services will be August 13, at 10am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Franktown, CO. Memorial service will be held in Las Vegas in the fall.
