'Porter' was the son of Clark Elliott Jordan and Mary Elizabeth Hall, and a Step-Mother, Alice Parrish. He was in the logging/timber business, and also coached Little League Baseball in Fordyce, AR, on the field that is now named in his honor, Porter Jordan Field. He married Kaye Garner on May 31, 1974 in Fordyce. They had a son, Pryor Daniel, born August 7, 1981, in Little Rock, AR.
He had an older sister, Jill McMillan of Arkadelphia, AR, and an older brother, Clark Elliott Jordan, Jr. of Fordyce, AR.
