Melvin Martin Willie Saylors, 84 of Ravenden, died June 17, 2023, at his residence.

Born July 6, 1938, in Delaplaine; son of Raymond and Lavena Saylors. Melvin was united in marriage to Elizabeth Brown in 1962. He was a Rancher, raised goats and cattle on his farm. He was good with his hands and enjoyed making things out of wood, metal, and leather.

He is preceded by his parents; two infant daughters, Vickie, and Star Ann; one sister, Urline Herring; and three brothers, Everett Lee, Junior and Jim.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; one son, Rodney Saylors and Linda Crow of Ravenden; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Mason, Debbie Kellem, and Mildred Young; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 2 P.M. in the Bradford Chapel Cemetery near Ravenden with Bro. Pat Hovis officiating. Pallbearers will be Arthur Crow, Joey Rone, Fred and Shane Dail, Harold Bailey and Billy Hovis.
