C.L. Bowen Jr., 90, of Fort Smith died Friday, May 5, 2000, at his home.
He was a retired Army officer with 30 years of service, a retired Fort Smith teacher, a member of Dallas Oaks Presbyterian Church, an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, youth club director of W.P.C. and treasurer of the Inter-Faith Community Center. He received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge.
Graveside service was 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel; two sons, William S. Bowen of Fayetteville and Robert W. Bowen of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Michael and Erika Bowen; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were William, Robert and Michael Bowen, William S. Bowen II, W.C. "Bill" Sowell and John Beckman.
