Mr. Jason Drew "Oscar" Huey of the Remmel Community, departed this life on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the age of 30. He was born July 16, 1992, in Newport, the son of Joey Don Huey and LeAnn (Glover) Huey Dawson.
Jason was a Newport High School graduate, Class of 2010. He enjoyed a lifetime of farming, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jason did not know a stranger, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, JD and Madeline (Goldman) Huey, and Louise (Stallnacker) Glover.
Jason is survived by his father, Joey Don Huey and wife, Debbie, of Remmel; his mother, LeAnn (Glover) Huey Dawson of Newport; one sister, Jamie Huey and wife, Allie, of Remmel; four brothers, Nathan Dawson and wife, Gigi, of Newark, Justin Cook, and wife, Amy of Jonesboro, Jon Cook and wife, Anastasia, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Bryan Norris of Jonesboro; three nieces, Addison Huey, Sutton Dawson, and CeCe Cook; five nephews, Hayden Huey, Sonny Wilson, Eric Wilson, Kase Dawson, and Sutton Cook; his maternal grandfather, Martin Glover of Newport; uncles, Bobby Huey and wife, Julia of Newport, Dewayne Glover and wife, Heather, of Trumann, and Franklin Glover of Newport; his aunts Judy Manning and husband, John of Forrest City, April Mullins and husband, Chad, of Newport, and Polly Magness of Newport; several other family members; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Remmel Church, with interment in McCall Remmel Cemetery.
