Rylee Joseph LYONS

Roselawn Cemetery
Union County,
Arkansas

April 7, 2004 - December 9, 2022

Rylee Joseph Lyons, age 18 of Maumelle, AR, formerly of Junction City, AR passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at his residence in Maumelle. Rylee was born on April 7, 2004 in El Dorado, AR to parents, Michelle Taylor Lyons and Jeff Lyons. Rylee was a 2022 Graduate of Junction City High School.

Like all Lyons men (and the women who loved them), Rylee was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. And like all those before him, he suffered the year after year heartbreak that seems to come with loving the Hogs. He loved to jokingly ask his dad, “Why couldn’t we have all been born Alabama fans?” As an early teen, he decided he wanted his own NFL team instead of rooting for his dad’s Saints. He chose the Buffalo Bills and from that day forward he was dedicated to them through every exciting win as well as each excruciating loss. Rylee also loved video games, computers, and all the gadgets that came with them.

Rylee lived his life with a selfless heart, always considering the feelings of other before his own. He was intelligent, funny, handsome, sweet, kind, and most of all caring. He gave the best hugs and always had a smile on his face. He was soft hearted like his momma and was never ashamed to cry if something made him sad. His laugh was infectious. His compassion for others set him apart in this cynical world and because of that, he made friends almost instantly and those friends loved him like a brother.

Rylee’s deepest love was reserved for his family. He was a textbook “Momma’s boy,” but loved to talk to his dad about sports and politics. His sister was his best friend and confidant. He loved and cherished his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins and they cherished him. In the final year of his life, he opened his heart to the love of his life, Mackinzie and together they brought a son, Reverie, into the family. He loved both more than life itself.

Rylee was preceded in death by all of his great grandparents and by his two grandfathers, Randy Lyons and Terry Taylor.

Survivors include; his infant son, Reverie Lyons; his parents, Jeff and Michelle Lyons; one sister, Olivia Lyons; and his girlfriend, Mackinzie Dorcy, all of Maumelle, AR; three grandmothers, Beverly Lyons of El Dorado, Connie Nealy of Haughton, LA, and Tommie Taylor of Centerton, AR; three uncles, Nick Lyons (Leslie), Shane Taylor, and Richard Taylor (Marianna); one aunt, Brandi Lyons (Clay Robinson), along with numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Bailey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Paul Methodist Church, with Rev. Rob Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations to benefit his son, Reverie, be made in care of First Financial Bank of El Dorado.
