Larry G. Tence Brantley, 83 of Junction City died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.

Born December 8, 1927 in Spearsville, LA he was the son of Russ and Lucy Glaze Brantley. Mr. Brantley was a production supervisor with Cooper Industries retiring after 25 years employment. He was a former member of the Junction City Missionary Baptist Church and attended Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II receiving the Victory Medal.

After his retirement he enjoyed working in his yard, tending his flowers and was especially proud of his wisteria bushes.

Preceding him in death along with his parents were six brothers, Clifford, Varner, Thelton, Lavelle, Devonne and Gordon Glen Brantley.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Peggy H. Brantley and a daughter, Sandra Rubio and her husband Lalo all of Junction City and a son, Larry G. Brantley, II and his wife Molly of Morristown, TN. Also surviving is one grandson, Justin Wilson of Junction City along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Ruben Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Leon Thurmon, Raymond Pennington, Kent Brantley, Douglas Dove, Beuford Taylor and Bernard Taylor.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 P. M. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.

Memorials may be made to the Roselawn Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 837, Junction City, AR 71749 or to Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, 902 Pilgrims Rest Church Road, Spearsville, LA 71277.
