Funeral services for Michael Walker Mason, 16, who drowned Sunday in Ouachita River near Calion, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Young Mason, a junior at El Dorado High School, was a member of the Key Club, the Student Council, the National Honorary Society and one of the official photographers of sporting events. He was a member of Innanuel Baptist Church and was the son of the late Harry K. Mason. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Evelyn Perdue Mason of No. 7 Pye Court; two brothers, Billy Ray Mason of El Dorado and Harold J Mason of West Monroe, La.; two sisters, Miss Kathryn Ann Mason of El Dorado and Mrs. Kay Linxwiler of Baton Rouge, La. The Rev. Roy B. Hilton will officiate at the services, assisted by Dean Dickens. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Key Club, the EHS football team and his Sunday school class. Active pallbearers include Steve Miller, Rusty Johnson, Joe Turnbow, Steve Shofner, Freddie Hendrix, Benjie Barnard, Mark James and Robert Tommey. (El Dorado News - April 18, 1967)
