ELMORE Richard Lee, born Sept. 30, 1931 at Mansfield, Ar., left to be with the Lord April 25, 1991. He and his family came to Bethany, Ok. in 1948. Married Johnnie Robertson in 1951. Fathered Rickie O'Neal and Robin Casebolt. Friend and father-in-law to John O'Neal, Mark Casebolt and Everett Blasingame. Second marriage to Peggy Jewel Chapman in 1981. He was a father to Jonetta Hanson-Mattax and Jan Blasingame. Grandfathered Melissa and Jay Dempsey, Robert O'Neal, Josie and Julie Hanson, Rachelle, Mandi, E.J., and Lissa Blasingame. Also survived by sisters and brothers, Ezra Elmore and Lillie Mayo, of Bethany, Hazel Collins, OKC, Archie Elmore, Greenwood, Ar., Leatrice Gilbreth, Booneville, Ar. and Lillian Beals, Madill, Ok. Preceded in death by parents, Virgie and Lee Elmore and brother, Luther. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Richard loved his Masonic lodges in OKC and Guthrie. He worked at Dalmarc Sign Company where he created many of the neon signs seen throughout OKC. Throughout his life he earned the love and respect of many, even unknowingly during his illness, by the wonderful staff of the Veteran's Administration Hospital. We will miss him but we know we will see him in a much better place.
Services will be conducted by his nephews, Rev. Bill Mayo and Rev. Glenn Mayo on Monday, April 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Bill Merritt Chapel.
