Husband of Nancy Sweeney
In 1874 Delaney was the first mayor of Charleston, Arkansas. He and his wife Nancy were Hotel Keepers according to the 1880 census) According to the death certificate of their son, Washington Low Sweeney, his father Delaney was born in Irelend and was a butcher.
