James Ronald McCarty, affectionately known as “Hot Foot,” age 71 of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. James was born on January 20, 1951 in El Dorado to the late Vera Tressa Haskins McCarty and Loyd Elijah McCarty. He formerly worked for Ensco, later called Clean Harbors, as an operator, serving 25 plus years before his health forced his retirement. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He especially loved to fellowship with people and was loved by all. He was an avid Razorback fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his favorite was duck and deer hunting.

James was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother and sister in law, Benjamin “Benny” McCarty and Sandra McCarty.

Survivors include; one son, Jamie McCarty and wife Alicia; one daughter, Janna Doss and husband Bruce, all of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Destany Vines and husband Lucas, Dakota McCarty, and Elijah Doss; one great granddaughter, Hadley Vines; one sister, Judy Chauncey and husband Dale of Tulsa, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Sye Duke officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
