January 6, 1936 - May 22, 1969
Sgt. Roy Edward Smith, 33, of Rt. 3, El Dorado died Thursday at an Air Force Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. Sgt. Smith was born Jan. 6, 1936 in Pine Bluff and was the son of Floyd and Ethel Floyd Smith. He was a veteran of 14 years with the Air Force and was a member of the Marrable Hill Chapel. Survivors include his mother of Clinton, Miss; a brother, Jerry W. Smith, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Thailand; and three sisters, Mrs. Sue Wilson, Clinton, Miss, Mrs. Bertha Scott and Mrs. Linda Kypke, both of Houston. Funeral services will be announced by Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - May 23, 1969)
