Rick Downs, 63 of Moore, SC formerly of El Dorado, AR, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at his home following a sudden death. He was born on December 31, 1949, to Lynn and Maxine Farley Downs in Hope, AR.

He was retired from Pilcher Hamilton in Greer, SC where he worked as Vice President of Manufacturing. He was a former plant manager of the Prescolite Plant in El Dorado. Richard was a graduate of Henderson State University, and attended Hillsboro Church of Christ in El Dorado, AR. He enjoyed bird hunting and was a member of the Spartanburg Gun Club.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Alisa Taylor Downs of Moore; SC, daughters, Meagan (Arnie) Pope of Duncan, SC, Brooke (Marty) Key of Simpsonville, SC; a sister Lyndae Harris of Little Rock, AR; and five grandchildren, Kennedy Key, Wilson Key, Walker Key, Abby Grace Pope and Banks Pope.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2013, in Young’s Chapel with Bro. Paul Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held wednesday, January 9,2013 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to the Southeastern Children’s Home, 115 Childrensway, Duncan, SC 29334.
