The Rev. Lee Vell Faison, 83, of El Dorado, died on June 9, 2016, at Cornerstone Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born on April 13, 1933 in El Dorado and was the son of Lelus Faison and Essie Evans Gatson Faison. He was a retired employee of Lion Oil Company. He was pastor of New Eastside Baptist Church. He was a member of Gusher Lodge No. 560 I.B.P.O. Elks of the World; founder of the Burnt Mill 4-H Club; member of the NAACP - El Dorado Chapter; founder of the Wildwood Water Association; founder of the Fair Deal Voters League; a CADC board member; founder of Wildwood Investments; and a Soil and Conservation member. He also served as a National Democratic Committee delegate.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, David L. Faison Sr.

Survivors are his wife, Annie Lean Herts Faison of El Dorado; three daughters, Sandra L. Faison and Cathy F. Sims, both of El Dorado, and Patricia Ann Tucker of Springfield, Mass.; one brother, Larry D. Faison of California; one sister, Bobbie D. Ingram of California; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Norphlet with the Rev. Anthony Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
