William Ferrand Nethery, Jr., 95, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on October 26, 1927 in El Dorado to the union of William F. Nethery, Sr. and Retta Belle McDonald Nethery. He retired from the United States Post Office after 34 years of service.

He loved his country and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was most proud of his family and is survived by his son William Ferrand Nethery III and his wife Debbie of Clarendon, AR; his daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Nethery Thomas of El Dorado; one granddaughter Jennifer Nethery Hall and her husband Robert of Stuttgart, AR; four great grandchildren and his adopted grandchildren Missy, Chris and Reese Blakely of El Dorado and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Jane Tarver Nethery; his brother Robert H. Nethery; two granddaughters Kelly Elizabeth Thomas and Allison Nethery Spellmeyer; his son-in-law Jerry Thomas and his best friend Elizabeth Young.

He was Daddy to two; Papaw to three; and “Lightning” to his friends. He loved his God, his family, his country, deer hunting and his 1968 candy apple red Mustang. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He enjoyed his time at Champagnolle Landing and the many friends he made there. He was a member of the Silver Kickers Senior Dance Group.

Pallbearers are Robert McHenry, Chris Blakely, Mark Stringer, Jeb Young, Karl Young and Maury Young.

Honorary pallbearers are his many friends at Champagnolle Landing.

“His Master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:23

The family will receive friends 1 pm to 2 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Young's Funeral Directors. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 at Rest Haven Memorial Garden with Rev Mark Sandy officiating.
