December 5, 1937 - October 7, 2022
Ira Davis, 84, of Norphlet, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. He was born, December 5, 1937 to Carl “Doc” and Catherine “Cassie” Swails Davis in Norphlet, AR.
After high school Ira joined the Army for three years. Returning home he was employed by Rock Island Railroad until their bankruptcy. He worked for Chevron Oil Company for 10 years. Ira then decided he liked appraising Real Estate property better, so he became an appraiser until his retirement.
Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Richard Scott Davis, and five siblings, Courtney Davis, Gilbert Davis, Danny Davis, Cathy Phillips, and Judy Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Davis; son, Tim W. Davis; five grandchildren; three siblings, Elonzo Davis (Betty), Lonez Dumas (Eddie), Bill Davis (Jan) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday October 9, 2022 with visitation held an hour prior, beginning at 2:00 pm. at Young's Funeral Directors. A private graveside will be held under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
