Miss Ethel Dandrige, 52, of Smackover, died in a local hospital at 1:20 a.m. Sunday. She was born April 18, 1912. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Grace Lee Sutton of Smackover, Mrs. Cleo Fairchild of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Mary Thelmon of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Catherine Hedgwood of Smackover; four brothers, Birling Dandridge of Lincoln, Willis Lloyd Dandridge, and Elmer Dandridge, both of Detroit, and Leonard Dandridge of St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Smackover. Burial will follow in Sweet Canaan Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home of Camden. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until time for services Thursday. (The El Dorado Times - May 19, 1964)
