BELLA VISTA-- Allan J. Long, 80, of Bella Vista died Sunday, May 4, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Indiana to Raymond and Alice Long.
After receiving his degree from Butler University, he served his country in the United States Navy, where he earned an Honorable Discharge. He retired as the executive vice president after 20 years service at Brentwood Savings and Loan Bank in California.
He had lived in Northwest Arkansas since 1987 after moving from California. He enthusiastically supported Razorback baseball for over 20 years and was a member of the UofA's Swatter's Club. He also enjoyed bowling and golf while living in Arkansas.
he was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Donald; and his younger sister, Jeanne.
Allan is survived by his two sons, Gregory S. Long of Corvallis, Ore., and David Long of Bella Vista; one granddaughter, Sheridan; and many other loving relatives.
Allan's cremains will be interred at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
