James "Ricky" Darter, 63, of Conway passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He was born in Flint, Michigan on March 24, 1955 to the late J.C. Darter and Joyce Darter. He was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen Lasley; his brother, Randy Darter; and his grandparents.
Ricky worked for Kool Vent in Little Rock for many years. He served in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He was a true Cowboy who loved horses and rodeo and rode broncs in his youth. He also loved watching western movies. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the mountains. He was known for playing practical jokes on his family. He dearly loved his family and they always came first. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Darter; son, Brent Darter (Shannon); daughter, Sonjia Brooks (David); seven grandchildren, Tabitha Brown (Trey), Sheldon Darter, Jacie Brooks, Colton Darter, Caitlin Darter, Lane Lasley (Kaleigh), and Mikayla Lasley; 2 great-grandchildren, Hayse and Madden Brown; and many other friends and family.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment will follow at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier.
