Son of Mont Sanders Murphy & Vina May Smith

Married Shirley Ann Geren, July 3, 1954 (his beloved wife of 61 years)
They had three daughters, Sharon, Marcia, & Susan

He retired as a Sgt Major in the Arkansas National Guard after 26 years of service. He also taught printing at Fayetteville High School, for 26 years at West Campus in Arkansas.

He loved fishing, being with his family, and Arkansas Razorback sports.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Benjamin Murphy, and survived by a sister Montie Berniece Murphy Stewart.
