Bobby E. Bledsoe, age 89, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2018 in Bossier City, LA. He was born on May 30, 1928 in Benton, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Lovie Mae Withem Bledsoe; three brothers, Howard Bledsoe, Jack Bledsoe, and Leon Bledsoe; two sisters, Della Franklin and Catherine Hurt.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Daniel Bledsoe and three daughters, Sandy Camp of Conway, AR, Tracy Miller and her husband, David of Texarkana, AR and Gayle Doucet and her husband, Harry of Bossier City, LA; three grandchildren, Lauren Davis and her husband, J.D. of Greenbrier, AR, Miles Smart, and Ashley Doucet of Bossier City, LA and one great-grandchild, Hope Davis along with several nieces and nephews.
Bobby started working at a very early age with a paper route and then later enlisted in the United States Navy when he was just 16. He served 4 years during WWII and 2 years during the Korean War. Once out of the service, he moved to Camden, AR (where he met his wife, Betty) to be with his mother and sisters. He began working for International Paper Company where he was employed for 45 years. He remained in Camden until 2010 when he and Betty moved to Bossier City, LA.
Bobby lived life to the fullest with his family at his side and was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast who loved to hunt, fish, raise cattle, and watch a good ballgame. Although he attended many churches throughout the years, his membership remained at Baron Cross Baptist Church in Little Rock.
Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A service honoring his life and accomplishments will be held 2:00 Monday, January 22, 2018 at Proctor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00. Interment will be at Bethesda Cemetery.
