BELLA VISTA — Donald "Don" Franklin Simmons, 73, of Bella Vista died Aug. 9, 2006, at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born June 6, 1933, in Tonkawa, Okla., to Charles R. and Lillie Doing Simmons. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from Arizona Air National Guard. His interests included golf, staining glass, antique cars and playing cards and traveling. He was involved with the Crime Watch and the Children's Shelter. He owned a cancer camp for children in the White Mountains of Arizona. He attended Bella Vista Community Church and was a 32nd-degree Mason. He married Sue Sanders on July 18, 1987. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Wolff.
Survivors include Susie Simmons of the home; one son, Scott of San Diego; grandsons, Wesley and Nicholas Wolff of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Margaret Powell of Big Fork, Mont.
No services are planned.
Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Bella Vista Animal Shelter or Lone Pine Ranch Animal Shelter.
