Steven Craig "Stevie" Bailey, age 58 of Searcy, entered the portal of heaven at Unity Health – White County Medical Center in Searcy on Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born May 29, 1958 in Searcy, Arkansas. Stevie attended the Sunshine School from its beginning until his health no longer permitted him to attend. He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church until he became unable to attend. Stevie loved fishing, camping and traveling. He vacationed from the Smokey Mountains to the Rocky Mountains, from the Gateway Arch to Disney World, to the white sands of Gulf Shores, including many trips to Branson. Stevie leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Gloria Shadrick; one sister, Jamie Brumley and husband Jimmy; one brother, Michael Shadrick and wife Serita; father, Howard Bailey; half-brother, Howard Bailey, Jr.; nieces, Teah Thrasher, Renee Benton and husband Justin; nephews Cole Brumley, Robbie and Michael Fikes; great-nephews, Brycen and Tucker Thrasher, Trace and Kasen Fikes; and his special friend, Kandi Carbajal. He was preceded in death by his daddy, James Shadrick; one infant brother; and his grandparents, Bill and Iree Durham and Doyle and Verla Bailey.
Stevie's family would to give their heart-felt appreciation to JoAnn and Brooke, nurses in CCU, and nurses and aides on 3 East, especially Barbara, Nicole and Tami, for their compassion, care and kindness for Stevie. And a very special thank you to Sherry Wells and the Hospice care providers. You helped us through a very sad part of our life.
Visitation is Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church in Searcy. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church with interment at Gum Springs Cemetery.
