*When Clovis Day Rains was born on April 6, 1912, in Arkansas, his father, James, was 28 and his mother, May, was 18. He married Olga G. Thomas and they had one son together. He then married Verlia Mae Smith and they had two children together. He died on June 11, 1987, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Pangburn, Arkansas.
