Rufus Paul Vaught, age 90, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017. He was born April 5, 1927 to the late Charley and Nettie (Mitchell) Vaught in Langley, Arkansas. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in Germany. He worked at Grissom Body Shop, Rob Wilson Motors Paint and Body Shop, loved to garden and go camping. He was a member and deacon of Third Baptist Church and member of the Steadfast Sunday School Class.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by, brother Geloy Vaught and sister Olive White.
Survivors are his wife Lavelle Morphew Vaught of 71 years, brothers Kenneth Vaught of Warren, IN., Charles Vaught of Eureka Springs, AR, Gail Vaught of Smithville, OK and sister June Montgomery of Mt. Home, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1:30-2:30 pm at Third Baptist Church.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2:30 pm at Third Baptist Church with Brother Tom Strike and Brother Gerald Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Rockport Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark White, Ronnie Mays, John Cole, Peter Vice, Randy Dugger, Mike Burris and Shawn Purifoy.
Honorary pallbearers are Jim Paul Franks, C.M. Phillips, Gerald Skinner, and Richard McCarville.
Memorials may be made to Third Baptist Church.
