Barbara Jeanne Dewsbury, 81, passed away in St. Augustine, Florida on September 21, 2009.
Barbara was a wonderful person; a loving wife and mother who will be deeply missed. She grew up in Aurora, Colorado. She was married to the love of her life, Roy Edmund Dewsbury, in 1948. Together they raised their family in Southern California and finally retired in Hickory Flat, Arkansas in 1981.
Barbara loved her time in the hills of Arkansas. She raised a garden, had chickens and goats and dogs and cats. Since her husbands passing in 1997 she had been surrounded by loving family and neighbors until the time that her declining health dictated that she could no longer live in the country. For the last two years she has been in the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law in St. Augustine, Florida, and along with the tender help of her son, lived out the rest of her life with dignity and grace. Even with her ill health she kept good spirits and humor to the end. She finally retired to the loving hands of God with the help of Jesus late Monday night. She had a good life and is now at peace.
She will be laid to rest on September 26th next to her late husband in Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Arkansas.
