Perry E "Buddy" Owen, 87, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born March 16, 1935, in Stamps Arkansas to James Arnold Owen and Mary Emma Owen.
Buddy married the love of his life on March 1, 1957. After 2 years of service in the USMC, Buddy and Virginia settled in Dallas, Texas where they owned/operated Owen Trucking, Inc. During his years in business, Buddy both owned and managed a small fleet of trucks, drove a truck himself and worked for other trucking companies as well. Buddy and Virginia moved to Hot Springs Village in 1982, raised 2 children and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2022. Buddy was passionate about trucking and remained so even after his retirement in 2009.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, brother J.W. Owen, three sisters: Louise Patterson, Doris Millican, and Helen Turnage. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, his children: daughter Stacy Kruse (Rod) and his son Doug Owen (Becky), four grandchildren: Austin Kruse, Ryan Kruse, Catlyn Owen, and Rodney (Drew) Ashbrook, one sister: Deliah Minter, and many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Belvedere Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hot Springs for the compassion and loving care of Buddy over the past months.
