Edward Matthew Koenig, 63, of Alma, Ark., passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009, in a Bentonville Hospital. He attended Butterfield Assembly of God Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the American Legion in Pierce City, Mo., a graduate of Pierce City High School and a retired 23 year employee of Pillsbury Bakery Co. in Joplin, Mo. He was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Carthage, Mo. He is survived by wife, Lee Ann Koenig, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Leach, of Parker, Colo., and Cindy Koenig, of Diamond, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Sharyl Gourley, of Alma, Brenda Gregory, of Woodlands, Texas, and Linda Titsworth, of Van Buren, Ark.; two stepsons, Bobby Gregory, of Alma, and Lee Gregory, of Mountainburg, Ark.; mother, Lou Koenig, of Pierce City; sister, Delores Bower, of Monett, Mo.; two brothers, Tom Koenig, of Connecticut, and Mike Koenig, of Pierce City; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 30, at Butterfield Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Alma, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home, of Alma. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 917 Highway. 64 East, Alma.
