Alvin Paul Janssen, 72, of Dover, AR, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 7, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. The son of Paul and Fern Johnson Janssen, he was born May 26, 1937 in Nashua, Iowa. He was a 1955 graduate of New Hampton High School in Iowa. He was the owner and operator of Janssen Engineering in Dover. He enjoyed working on tractors, cars, four wheeling, working outside and spending time with his family and attending grandchildren's events. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Janssen, Dover; two daughters, Robin Weehunt and husband James, Russellville, Renee Springer, Mason City, IA; three sons, Rick Janssen and wife Sharon, Zumbro Falls, MN, Ron Janssen and wife Kelley, Dover, Rusty Janssen, Dover; 19 grandchildren, Sidney, Corey, Heather, Morgan, Ryan, Amber, Rocky, Shaun, Susan, Shane, Scott, Mary, Cris, Emilie, Alan, Ben, Jennifer, Bailey, and Jacob; 6 great grandchildren, Aubrey, Ava, Jacob, Tristin, Shelby, and Kayden; two sisters, Janice Kraus, Mason City, IA, Jean Janssen, Fort Madison, IA; a brother, Arlen Janssen and wife Mary, Nashua, IA.

Funeral will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Todd Steffy will officiate. Burial will be at McFadden Cemetery at Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, at the funeral home.
