Paul W. Sanborn, age 74, of Dover, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A son of the late Walter Alonzo and Roxanna Cleaves Jones Sanborn, he was born November 20, 1932 in Ellsworth, Maine. He was a United States Air Force veteran of both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, and retired in 1978 as Chief Master Sergeant after twenty-seven and a half years. He was a resident of Dover for the past twenty-seven years, and worked for Epperson Construction Company in Russellville for nineteen years following his retirement. He was a Baptist, and considered his best work being a father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter Jr., Charles, John and Clarence Sanborn, and a brother-in-law, Richard Mitchell. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-four years, Beverly Jo Sanborn; four sons: Dave Sanborn and his wife, Robin, of Russellville; Mike Sanborn and his wife, Wanita, of Hartman; Dan Sanborn and his wife, Debbie, of Abilene, Texas; and Ric Sanborn and his fiancée, Melanie Goad, of Fort Smith; a daughter, Lana Sue Ledezma and her husband, Joe, of Kerrville, Texas; a sister, Sally Gifford of Ellsworth, Maine; two brothers-in-law: Curtis Mitchell and his wife, Anna, of Dover; and Tom Mitchell of the Philippines; a sister-in-law, Jean Abbott and her husband, Wayne, of Poteau, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M., on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at the Shinn Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in McFadden Cemetery at Dover, by Shinn Funeral Service.
