Laney E. Phipps, age 75, of Malvern passed away Sunday, February 10,2013 at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. He was born February 11, 1937, in Cherry Valley, Arkansas to the late Laney F. and Eva Sutherland Stiles Phipps.
Laney was a 20 year veteran of the Malvern Police Department, where he started as a patrolman and retired as Police Chief.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra Kaye Kemp Phipps; two daughters, Beverly Malone (Donnie), and Becky Davidson (Matthew); one brother, Clifford Phipps ( Marie); five grandchildren, Melissa Malone Murdock (Anthony), Matt Malone (Angela), Heather Davidson Penny (Paxton), Harley Davidson and Hannah Davidson; great grandchildren, Mason Buckley, Makayla Walker, Micah Murdock, Logan Malone, Kyler Penny, and Lane Malone.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 11 , from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 12, at 10:00am in the Regency Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Goodknight and Brother Eli Maynard officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Malone, Harley Davidson, Mason Buckley, Paxton Penny, Donnie Malone, Matthew Davidson and Tony Malone. Burial will follow at Rockport Memorial Gardens.
