Thomas J. "Tom" Nier Sr., 52, of East Alton, Ill., born July 24, 1958, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in East Alton, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodyard and Idell, nee Weatherly, Nier.
Surviving are his children, Jamie (John) Woodson of St. Jacob, Ill., Thomas J. "Tom" (Casey) Nier Jr., of Pierron, Ill., and Dan (Michelle) Nier of Park Hill, Mo.; special friend, Thelma "Jeannie" Yates of East Alton, Ill.; grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Mackenzie, Kegan, Aston, Peyton and Andrew; sister, Judy (Harold) Williams of Maryville, Ill.; brother, Jim (Sharon) Nier of Belleville, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Visitation: Friends may call from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Williams officiating.
