Jimmy R. Pate, 69, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He was born July 13, 1951 in Corinth, MS, to the late son James and Ray Nell Pate. He enjoyed trips to the casinos, playing practical jokes on friends and family, and spending time with his pets. Jimmy owned and operated Jim's Pawn Shop in Jacksonville for over 25 years. During that time, he was a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and an early supporter of the Jacksonville Youth Soccer Association. He greatly appreciated having a career that allowed him to make and spend time with his countless friends.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his his sister Jamie Sue Ellis.
He is survived by his sister, Lou Alice Pate Langley; sons, Jimbo and Joshua Pate; as well as a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will take place at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Moore’s Jacksonville funeral home. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
