Richard "Elmo" Mayo, 90, of Van Buren, Arkansas, died Monday February 14, 2011 in his home.
He was born August 26, 1920 in Rudy, Arkansas.
He was a pressman at Press Argus Newspaper, a member of VFW ,was Baptist faith, and served in World War II for the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Bertha Mayo; two brothers, Sug Mayo and Ralph Mayo; a sister Mildred Kubec and a step-daughter, Mary Sallee.
He is survived by his wife Edith Mayo of the home; a step-daughter, Martha Nivens of Grandview, TX; three step-sons, James Rice of North Las Vegas, NV, Clinton Rice of Muldrow, OK, Lanny Rice of Lincoln, AR; a sister, Edna Alice Coleman of Van Buren, AR and a brother, Bunk Mayo of CA.
Services were 2:00 P.M. Friday February 18, 2011 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren, AR with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, AR. Under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bill Coleman, Jerry Coleman, Bob Mayo, Lanny Rice, Clinton Rice and Richard Hays.
