Steve Wayne Balch, 70, of Van Buren passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, in a local hospital.
He was retired from the Arkansas Highway State Police Department. He was a member of Van Buren First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Curtis; and two sisters, Faye and Peggy.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Van Buren First Baptist Church Chapel in Van Buren with burial to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris (Bailey) Balch of the home; one daughter, Barbara Balch-Hernandez of Van Buren; one son, Steve Wayne Balch Jr. of Garner, N.C.; three stepsons, Danny Fisher of Oklahoma City, Johnny Fisher of Van Buren and Richy Fisher of Houston; four sisters, JoAnn Pelletier and Wanda Sneadering, both of Mount Pleasant, Mary Price of Virginia and Linda Crowe of Marion; two brothers, Harrell Balch of Michigan and Travis Balch of Lavaca; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
